September - Golden Hour

The Coffee:

Alex Bermudez and the El Paraiso crew just dropped another bio-reactor flex from 1,930 meters in Cauca: Castillo cherries ozone scrubbed, then 72 hours anaerobic submerged, followed by a custom microbial culture medium blasted back in under pressure for 36 more hours before a thermal-shock seal and slow dehumidifier dry. The result is pure tropical smoothie energy juicy peach and pineapple riding a creamy lychee wave, silky body, and a long, lingering sweet finish that refuses to quit. Light roast, clean funky, experimental as hell. This is what happens when the Bermudez family treats coffee processing like precision science and the cup like dessert.

The Roaster:

Kyle Rowsell is the co-founder of September Coffee Company, a specialty micro-roastery based in Ottawa, Canada.

He started the company in 2022 with his wife Natasha Rowsell. Before launching the roastery, Kyle built a solid following as a YouTuber and coffee educator, creating approachable content on home brewing, gear, and specialty coffee. 

September emphasizes light, bright, sweet, and clean single-origin coffees, often featuring interesting processes and direct or carefully chosen relationships with small producers. They roast on a Loring and run a small “Studio” micro-café at their roasting facility.
