Mí Pinkíta - Panama
On our trip to Panama, we sipped a ridiculously tasty cup that screamed “Geisha”... until someone smugly informed us it was just a washed Catuai. No fancy process. No unicorn variety. Just straight-up Panama terroir flexing so hard it cosplayed as the $200/lb stuff. That moment ruined us in the best way possible. From then on, we tarted hunting for anything this magical country felt like showing off.
Enter Mí Finquita the “little farm” that’s low key a big deal. Born from the legendary Hartmann family (yes, those Hartmanns), this experimental side project is run by the third generation, including the charming Ratibor Jr., his wife Tessie, and their two professional hype dogs, Lucas & Noir.
The Hartmann story is straight-up coffee royalty: Grandpa Alois immigrated in the 1920s, Dad founded Finca Hartmann, and now the grandkids are out here dropping balloon-fermented masterpieces while still respecting the land. Ratibor treats every batch like a one-of-a-kind work of art that should never be replicated — and we’re fully obsessed with that energy.
Our first release from them is a bright, juicy washed Catuai we lovingly named Mí Pinkíta. It’s Panama in a cup: clean, vibrant, and way more impressive than it has any right to be.
